PlayStation 5 confirmed to launch in India on February 2: Details

  PS5 was launched globally in November, and now the gaming console is finally coming for the Indian market. After a long wait, PlayStation 5 is finally coming to India on February 2. Sony announced the launch date on Twitter and confirmed that pre-orders would begin from January 12 at 12 pm in the country.   AmazonBasics has quietly launched its first televisions in India priced at Rs. 29,999 onwards. The televisions come in two size variants of 50 and 55 inches. The AmazonBasics Fire TV Edition televisions have 4K HDR LED display panels, with support for the Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos formats for HDR and audio, respectively. The televisions will go up against competition in the entry-level 4K smart TV segment, particularly from brands such as Xiaomi, TCL, Hisense, and Vu to name a few. Redmi 9T Launch Rumoured for January 8, Xiaomi Tipped to Launch at Least Nine Phones in Early 2021

  Redmi 9T launch is set for January 8, according to a tipster. The new Redmi phone has so far been a part of the rumour mill and is speculated as a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 4G that debuted in China in November and arrived in India as Redmi 9 Power with a distinct camera setup. Alongside Redmi 9T, Xiaomi is speculated to bring at least eight new phones globally in early this year. The lineup could include Mi 11 Lite 4G as well. The tipster, who goes by pseudonym Snapdrachun 888 5G (@chunvn8888),  tweeted  the purported launch date of  Redmi 9T . Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus Tipped to Launch in Second Half of 2021

  Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus, or Snapdragon 888+, is said to launch in the second half of this year. We are yet to see many smartphones arrive with the Snapdragon 888 — the flagship SoC that launched in December — but reports of its Plus variant have already started. According to the tipsters, we can expect the 888 Plus variant to arrive in the second half of 2021, which makes sense as Qualcomm typically has a mid-year refresh.   Oppo Reno 5 5G and Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G have been spotted on National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). The phone are said to come with model numbers CPH2145 and CPH2201 respectively. The Oppo Reno 5 5G has also been spotted on Global Certification Forum (GCF), Indonesian SDPPI, and Taiwan's National Communications Commission (NCC), and Bluetooth SIG listing. Xiaomi Mi 11 Sold 350,000 Units in First 5 Minutes of Going on Sale: Report

Xiaomi Mi 11 reportedly sold 350,000 units in just five minutes after it went on sale in China today, January 1. The smartphone was launched in the country on December 28. Xiaomi's latest flagship is also the first smartphone to debut with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC that was unveiled last month. The phone features a display made of E4 light emitting material and claims to offer a peak brightness of 1,500 nits. Citing Zeng Xuezhong, Vice President of Xiaomi Group and President of Smartphone Department, a  report  by IThome says that 350,000 units of  Xiaomi Mi 11  were sold in five minutes after it went on sale in China at 12.00am local time today, January 1 (10:30pm IST, December 31). It also says that the Xiaomi Mi 11 omni-channel sales exceeded CNY 1.5 billion (roughly Rs. 1,677 crores) in those 5 minutes. IndiGo Claims Servers Hacked in December, Internal Documents May Get Uploaded on Public Platforms

  IndiGo airlines on Thursday said that some of its servers were hacked earlier in the month of December and hackers might upload some internal documents on public platforms. "We would like to make this disclosure that some of our servers were subject to a hacking incident earlier this month. We were able to restore our systems in a very short span of time with minimal impact," said the airlines in an official statement. Airlines said that there were some segments of data servers that were breached, and therefore "there is a possibility that some internal documents of the company may get uploaded by the hackers on public websites and platforms." "We realise the seriousness of the issue, and are continuing to engage with all relevant experts and law enforcement to ensure that the incident is investigated in detail," it added.

Mi A3 Android 11 Update Rollout Halted After Receiving Bricking Complaints From Users

Xiaomi has stopped rolling out the Android 11 update for Mi A3, that caused bricking of the phone. Several users reported the problem on social media platforms including Reddit, following the update that was released earlier this week. The Android 11 update for Mi A3 was meant to bring the latest Android experience along with features including conversation bubbles and improved Do Not Disturb (DND) mode. It notably came months after Xiaomi brought Android 11 to other models including Redmi Note 9 Pro and Mi 10. A large number of affected users  complained  on Twitter that after installing  Android 11  to their  Mi A3 ₹ 12,999 , the phone became completely dead. It didn't even turn on bootloader or wake up when it is connected with a PC, as per a  thread  on Reddit. Tencent Games Said to Be Removed From Huawei App Store Over Revenue Dispute

  Tencent's online game offerings have been removed from Huawei's app store since the two companies failed to reach an agreement on revenue sharing, Tencent and a source said on Friday. "Due to the failure of  Huawei's  mobile game platform to renew its contract with our Mobile Game Promotion Project Agreement as scheduled, relevant products of  Tencent Games  were suddenly removed from the shelves early this morning,"  Tencent  said in a statement. "At present, active communication is being made to try to resume as soon as possible," it said. Tencent sells some of the top-ranked online games worldwide, while Huawei has a 41.4 percent share of the China mobile phone market and 14.9 percent of the global market, according to data from market research firms IDC and Canalys. While applications for early access to Realme UI 2.0 for Realme 7, Realme X2 Pro, and Realme Narzo 20 Pro has closed, users can still apply to be a part of the early access programme for Realme 6 Pro. Realme UI 2.0 will bring new customisation options for the device as well as Android 11 features. Since Realme is testing UI 2.0, based on  Android 11 , on a number of phones, it seems likely that the final release of the update will be out soon.
